“Doug and the boys were brilliant! We were kept informed of progress at all times, the work areas were kept tidy at all times. We will definitely use HSR for any future work needed and would recommend them 100%. Thank you Doug for an excellent service and a great new staircase.”

“I cannot praise Doug and his team highly enough. This was intended to be a limited and relatively straightforward set of ‘repair/replace/renovate’ projects, but it turned into a constantly evolving nightmare of remedial work (it’s an old house!) which they handled with remarkable calm and great professionalism. I am very sorry for the disruption this caused to their schedules and those of their other customers too, but I am very grateful for their exemplary support and skill.”

With our original Edwardian staircase moving away from the wall, held up on breeze blocks, and in danger of collapsing, we contacted many ‘staircase’ companies with a view to repairing the problem. Most refused to even consider it, whilst others provided suggestions that would have left the staircase aesthetically defaced and unable to have a carpet runner as planned, or removal of the original stairs completely, neither of which were appealing.
Only Hampshire Staircase Refurbishments were up to the task of repairing and responded within the urgency we needed, putting in a full ten hours shift and underpinning the whole staircase with repairs only visible from the understairs cupboard. We finished with a solid strengthened staircase, and were able to lay our carpet runner as planned with the repairs invisible.
We were so impressed with the work that we discussed the possibility of also restoring our first & second floor staircases to match the spindles and handrails of the original Edwardian style ground floor stairs just repaired. The upper floors spindles & handrail had been installed in the last ten years but were cheap, modern & badly fitted. It was a challenging project but Hampshire Staircases were up to it, reproducing spindles and hand rails to replicate the originals prior to starting the on site work.
It was a two man job over about ten days. All the work was bespoke and had to be worked out ‘on the job’ to rectify previous installation faults, measuring and cutting precisely to add the finishing Edwardian features. We are delighted with the final result and now have a fully restored Edwardian staircase from ground to second floor.
I would recommend Hampshire Staircase Refurbishments, especially if you are looking for high quality specialist work”.

“Hampshire staircases did a great job of replacing our old solid banister with an Oak one. It was not a straight forward replacement and so some decisions had to be made in consultation with us. They bespoke made the new banister and we are very happy with the final results.”
